Originally named the Eighth Designing & Research Institute of the Ministry of Machine-building Industry, ours is a large-scaled comprehensive designing and research institute at the state level a Grade-A Designing Certificate and a member of China National machinery & Equipment¡¡Corporation (Group) (CNMEG). Firstly established in 1951, our Institute is situated at the picturesque historical city Changsha, of Hunan Province.

    After the vicissitudes in the last 50 years and more ,our Institute has been developed into a sci-tech oriented enterprise that is highly reputed and competitive both at home and abroad in the fields of machine building and project designing, with a Grade-A designing certificate in engineering designing in such fields as machine-building, military projects, shipbuilding, light industry, architecture, municipal services, environmental protection; a grade-A certificate in engineering consultation, engineering cost consulting, working safety pre-evaluation, intelligent building designing and construction, fire protection design, engineering contracting and construction. It has the qualifications to design projects with high pressure vessels of Class 1,2,3 and pressure pipelines, and with Grade-B certificate for environmental evaluation, electronics industry, electrical power industry,     commercialized food circulation and storage, chemical industry, petrochemical industry, pharmaceutical industry, pharmaceutical industry, rural and urban planning. It is also empowered by the country's Ministry of commerce and Trade to contract in overseas labor services carry out both imports and exports with foreign corporate entities.

    Under the authority of CNMEG, our Institute is a large-scaled state-owned enterprise combining science, industry, trade and finance into one entity. Under the direct management of the State Assets supervision Commission of the state Council, CNMEG has a total fixed assets of 25,6 billion RMB Yuan. As an important base in both R&D and manufacturing of machinery and equipment in China , it is one of China largest general contractors of engineering projects, ranking 37 among all the 225 Top International General Contractors in the Year2004, and ranked 94 among all the 200 Top International Companies of Engineering Consulting & Design in the Year 2004.

    As a sci-tech-oriented enterprise, our Institute is in possession of a highly-qualified contingent of designing forces, in which over 30 are senior engineers of the professor ship, about 200 are senior engineers and still another 200 and more are technical personnel. There are also 200 registered professional personnel at the State level, covering more than 30 specialized engineering fields. Our Institute has set up a local corporate network, and realized CAD and office automation through the network. We are now able to provide for our customers and business clients professional and efficient services in investment consultation, engineering design and engineering contracting services.

    Since 1951, CMIE has completed engineering designs of more than 10,000 domestic and foreign projects of various sizes, achieved nearly 500 sci-tech research results, covering almost all parts of our country and more than 10 other countries and regions. As a result, our Institute has been awarded more than 100 prizes for excellent designs and sci-tech achievements by the state, the Ministry or the Province, and holds more than 20 patents and exclusive technical know-hows at the State level. Our Institute has simultaneously been the chief compiler of many of the State Technical standards and designing specifications.

    According to the National Standards GB/T190001-IS9001:2000,our Institute has set up our own Quality Management System, and Has persisted in Ameliorations in accordance with the quality guidelines and objectives, thus greatly living up to the expectations of our customers and business clients.
